Wow, don’t you think is a little too fast to step into the new decade? Kind of intimidated, but also excited to see what lies ahead.

When the fireworks light up the same sky we have been watching over the course of this year, we know it is the beginning of a new year. In the new year, we all long for happiness, better shape, achievement or perhaps a long-lasting relationship. Not sure if it is just me, sometimes I feel that I am constantly not enough in comparison with the peope around me. They are always ticking every box you have made for yourself in your own imagination, and all you trying to do is try keeping up with their pace, or rather just with a mere goal about finding what actually is your passion. And you make all these wishes, hoping they will magically turn into realities in this new year.

2020, I like the perfectly balanced number, and for the rest of the decade, it will encompass not just any ten years, but my prime 10 years. In my early 20s, I will see myself experiencing a great transition from school to work, from a dumbass, Mr. blur student to a (hopefully) self-sustaining, determined working adult. ‘Grind, bro’, one phase I’ve always heard from my friend, whom are also in his early 20s. To be honest, I don’t think I am ready, or at least I wanted to live in this bubble for as long as reality permits. But, like it or not, this very day is dashing towards us and we all have to be prepared and roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty.

In this case, I personally like resolution just because it gives me visibility about what I have to achieve this year, though it is a life-long battle. I saw a post from my friend about New Year’s resolution a few days ago, and how people tends to approach them. The post does give some useful advices about how we should craft our resolutions. There are three main topics covered in that Facebook post:

Make it actionable, be more specific on tasks/steps Realize changes will not come in just one day Set up milestone along the way to reward/remind yourself New year resolution, it could seem ‘unreachable’ or it could fall out of the routine if it is not well structured. However, give it a serious thought and a baby step at the start is always better than no start at all. So, here I am, giving myself a list of resolutions to begin with. Writing it down, so that the future me (2021 me) could review these list of tasks:

Building more muscle by watching more videos, ask people around how is their journey, reading. Progress picture is a great reward to keep you going forward Learn to code by finish the course in Linkedin learning Learning more about investing. (But how?) Last but not least, really ask yourself what is your passion? and find a job that fulfils that ‘you’ that you pictured yourself.
